In partnership with The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto, Together Project is pleased to announce The Ritz-Carlton Succeed Through Service Newcomer Hospitality Program. Through the generous support of The Ritz-Carlton Community Footprints team, this program provides an orientation to the hospitality sector for 25 refugee newcomers, ages 18 and above, with Canadian Language Benchmark Level 5 or higher. Classes are meeting on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-8:00 PM at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto, from June 26th until August 7th. The YMCA Newcomer Youth Leadership Development (NYLD) program, in partnership with the Together Project, has launched a program for refugee youth aged 12-19 in the Thorncliffe community. This strength-based program offers youth the opportunity to meet new friends, practice their English, build their leadership skills and get involved in their new community.
Together Project is connecting refugee newcomers to six nature-focused festivals and events in 2018 through the generous support of TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. This initiative provides refugee newcomers and welcome group volunteers with the opportunity to discover Toronto’s urban nature and culture.
